Growing through play
With $50,000 of support from our
Community Grants Program, Free Play
for Kids delivered free, inclusive after-
school programming to 720 children
in Grades 3 to 6 across 24 high-
needs schools. Operating from local
recreation centres, the program
offered a safe, structured, and fun
environment four days a week.
Beyond the games and activities, the
biggest impact was the development
of social and emotional skills —
a change noticed not only by coaches,
but by parents and teachers too.
By removing financial and logistical
barriers, Free Play helps families
reduce the strain of poverty while
empowering kids to thrive through
connection and play.
