Inclusive giving
Endowments enable lasting impact,
but traditional investment models
can conflict with cultural or religious
values. Recognizing this barrier,
ECF created Canada’s first Shariah
Compliant Investment Portfolio in
2022. This innovation allows Muslim
donors to grow endowments aligned
with their faith principles.
In 2024, ECF’s CFO, Chris Quinn and
ECF Investment Committee member,
Riad Assaf were honoured by the
Al Rashid Education Foundation for
their leadership in making charitable
giving more accessible, demonstrating
how innovation and inclusion can
strengthen the future of philanthropy.
