Our actions today
echo into the future.
In 1989, the Poole and Stollery families invested in
Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF) with a simple
goal: support our community for generations to come.
Since then, generous people like Eldon Foote and
thousands of other donors have joined us, creating
endowments both large and small.
Edmonton looks different today than it did in 1989,
and so do its needs. We stay relevant by listening to our
community and adjusting how we work, always keeping
an eye on the future.
Evolving for impact shows what we accomplished
in 2024 to make ECF even more effective. With you,
we’re building a city where everyone can succeed.
Together we thrive.
ECF works in Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional lands
of diverse First Nations including the Nehiyaw (Cree),
Denesuliné (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishnabe
(Salteaux), and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), and within the Métis
homelands of the North Saskatchewan River Territory.
These lands have long been places of gathering, ceremony,
and community for many Nations. We honour this history
and are inspired by Indigenous principles such as Seven-
Generation thinking. As we are guided by those who came
before, we act with care for those who will follow.
