Together we
invest in community.
ECF and the
Social Enterprise
Fund stood with us;
not just as funders,
but as visionaries
who believe in
building a more
equitable city.

Investing beyond endowments
Social impact investments generate
both financial returns and measurable
social change. Unlike traditional
grants, they create a sustainable cycle
where repaid capital is reinvested
into new community initiatives,
expanding our impact over time.
Aligning our financial assets with our
mission ensures our capital is driving
positive community outcomes while
maintaining financial sustainability.
Through the Social Enterprise
Fund, ECF supports social purpose
organizations with the money we
invest. Since 2008, SEF has invested
over $90 million across more than
110 Alberta-based social enterprises.
This includes 42 initiatives in 2024,
such as the Jasper Place Wellness
Centre’s (JPWC) Healing House model,
which provides transitional housing
and comprehensive support services
to vulnerable Edmontonians.
