How to Meet a Horse
Stay safe when meeting a horse
with these helpful tips

Be calm and listen.
Always treat horses with respect. The
horse owner will let you know if it’s
okay to approach or pet the horse.
Horses can startle easily!

Don’t stand directly behind
the horse or approach from
behind. Speak to the horse
with a gentle voice.
Wear the right gear!

Keep your helmet on when riding
and always wear riding boots.
No sandals allowed.
